Mother of trafficked Virginia girl sues school district over secret gender transition

When House Bill 23-1003 was introduced, critics expressed concern that it provided the state a dangerous amount of control of a child’s mental health treatment. The bill allows a child to opt their parents out of being informed or involved in their mental health treatment. When the WPSD school district declined to renew many of the state’s mental health grants, critics bemoaned a loss of mental health resources in the district. This story paints a very scary picture as to what is possible if parents are not involved with their children’s mental health treatment, and mental health grants with radical ideological requirements are pushed on children.
