Colorado Democrats to roll out gun package including age-limited 'assault weapons' ban, increase manufacturer liability
Democrats from the General Assembly's gun violence prevention caucus are set to announce four bills intended to limit or ban certain types of firearms, strengthen the "red flag" law, and increase liability for gun manufacturers.
According to caucus spokesperson, Delegate Ruth Smith, the four bills will be introduced at the General Assembly's upcoming session and will focus on limiting access to assault rifles, limiting ammunition magazines to 10 rounds, creating a "gun violence restraining order" law, and increasing the financial liability of gun manufacturers.
Six states have introduced similar liability laws, although only one has survived initial legal challenges.
