Chicago Democrat sounds alarm as 55 schools report no proficiency in math or reading: 'Very serious'

A recent Illinois Department of Education study has revealed that all Chicago public school children lack proficiency in math and reading, despite a historical windfal of funding. Some officials point to Covid remote learning, which lasted longer in Chicago than many other areas, as one of the key causes of deficiency.
